What is Chip & Seal Paving?

What is Chip & Seal is a similar product to Asphalt. This product is a tar and chip combination of asphalt cement and gravel mixed together for driveway, parking lot and road resurfacing. Used for over 100 years that provides a great alternative to asphalt. With a variety of shades from brown, light grey, and red. Lower cost (half the cost of asphalt), virtually maintenance free and good traction.

What is the difference between Asphalt and Chip & Seal?

 is in the construction method

Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement

Heating liquid asphalt + mixing it with aggregate +
compacting the mixture = a durable road structure and riding surface.

Chip and Seal Paving

Thin film of heated asphalt liquid is sprayed on the road surface + placement of small aggregates/chips compacted for maximum adherence + sweeping excess stones from the surface = new driveway.
